Lorcana’s thirteenth set, Attack of the Vine!, releases this Friday, July 17. It’s a 242-card set built around a corrupting vine that has been creeping through the game’s story, and the card list leans into the theme hard. Several familiar faces show up in twisted "Created by the Vine" versions, including Scar, Peter Pan, Mulan, and, somehow, Heihei the chicken.
The shape of the set
The breakdown in our catalog: 72 commons, 54 uncommons, 51 rares, 19 super rares, and 12 legendaries. Then the fun part: 29 Enchanted cards plus a small Iconic slate on top. That’s a deep top end for a Lorcana set, which spreads the expensive pulls across more cards instead of piling the whole set’s value into two or three obvious chases. The full card list is on the set page, with market prices filling in as data lands.
What stands out in the card list
- Duo cards. Two characters sharing one card: Woody & Buzz Lightyear, Mickey & Minnie, Pocahontas & Meeko, Rapunzel & Flynn, and Dash & Violet from The Incredibles. Most of the duos sit at Legendary with Enchanted versions above them, so expect these to be the set’s signature pulls.
- The vine corruptions. Scar, Peter Pan, Mulan, Mrs. Incredible, and Heihei all get "Created by the Vine" printings. Villain-ified heroes tend to be popular with collectors even when they aren’t format staples.
- New corners of Disney. Turning Red shows up for the first time (Meilin Lee in several forms, plus Sun Yee), the Monsters, Inc. office arrives nearly complete (Roz’s "Always Watching" is exactly what you’d hope), and Darkwing Duck fans get Quackerjack and Megavolt. There’s even Kevin from Up.
Rotation hits the same week
One more thing makes this release unusual: the first Standard rotation is scheduled for July 24, one week after the set drops, with the game’s early sets leaving the format. Two practical effects. Players will be selling out of rotating staples, so if you play casual or non-rotating formats, the next few weeks should be a genuinely good time to buy older singles cheap. And playable cards from the sets that survive rotation will matter more than they normally would, so keep an eye on which Attack of the Vine cards show up in early event results.
When to buy
The same advice we give before every release: unless you need cards in hand for launch weekend, wait. Prices on a new set peak in the first few days while supply is thin, then drift down over two or three weeks as more product gets opened. Enchanteds are the usual exception. The ones that turn out to be short pulls can climb after week one, so if you want a specific Enchanted for a binder, watch it rather than guessing. Every card page has a price history graph, and you can set a price alert to get an email when a card dips below your number.
Our stores will be listing singles as soon as product is in hand. Browse Lorcana singles here, or start from the Attack of the Vine set page and sort through what turns up.
